Mission Statement
Jim Buck Memorial Benevolent Fund (JBMBF)
Mission Statement: The fund was created in honor of Jim Buck, former Local 80 Business Agent. The purpose is to provide assistance to members facing financial hardship in meeting their dues obligation.
Procedure: An eligible member , upon committee approval, can receive a loan to help up to 3 quarters worth of dues for the purposes of paying any late dues and/or related fines or penalties at Local 80. The committee reviews pertinent financial information from member files, payroll reports, work record or pension reports, as needed to make a determination on a loan. The committee then presents its findings to the Executive Board for any action. The guidelines limit this committee to 5 members.
Meeting date/time: Varies upon receipt of an application. No less than one hour before the next regularly scheduled executive board meeting

Women’s Committee
Mission Statement: The Women’s Committee is dedicated to providing networking and
mentorship opportunities for women of the local, and to be a meaningful resource for
educational tools, social media campaigns, and community outreach and activism. The
Committee endeavors to create a sense of community throughout the geographic and craft
diversity of our Union by highlighting the achievements of women in the Local. The Committee
seeks to tap into the unlimited potential of women members to ensure strength and success in
our Union, in our workplaces, and in our communities at large.
*Members and Guests from other local unions are most welcomed
Meeting Frequency: 4th Saturday of each EVEN month (February / April / June / August / October) at 11A in the Local 80 Conference Room

Local 80’s Negotiation Committee is comprised of union leadership and members who are working behind the scenes to receive membership feedback, organize proposals, and fight for the best conditions possible in future contracts.

Mission Statement: To develop hybrid meeting protocols and to consult on software, tech and RRO/Constitutional/Legal compliance related procedural issues to help ensure success of hybrid and online zoom meetings for the Local, as support to the President and Sergeant-at-Arms.
Meeting Frequency: As-needed, regularly. Generally twice a month or more.

Safety Committee
Mission Statement: The safety committee will aim to build a community of subject experts and a core group of individuals.
Meeting Frequency: Monthly
Vacancies: 4 Medics, 6 Craft Service
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee (DEI)
Mission Statement: To advocate and support diversity and inclusion through education, training, communication and engagement. This committee aspires to facilitate a cultural change that intentionally values a diversity of perspectives, backgrounds, and beliefs.
Meeting Frequency: Once per month

Tony Moran Young Workers Committee Reports
Young Workers Committee (YWC)
Mission Statement: Overall, the Young Workers initiative aims to engage, encourage, educate, and support the next generation of active IATSE members and leaders to build long-term collective power. The AFL-CIO specifically defines “young workers” as those under the age of 35.
